Staff Accountant

Location: Venice, CA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enter vendor bills, set up new vendors, assist in creating weekly AP payables report.
  • Ensures vendors invoices are processed timely and researches any discrepancies with vendors
  • 3 Way matching for Production Material invoices
  • Maintain Vendor W9 data throughout the year
  • Prepares annual 1099’s and/or coordinates preparation with outside services to ensure accuracy
  • Propose, present, and implement process improvements in areas under responsibility to improve efficiencies
  • Prepare journal entries and accountant reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with insurance renewal data preparations and audits
  • Establishes and documents accounting processes
  • Assist the AR manager, Assistant Controller, and team with projects
  • Maintain and address emails sent to finance inbox
  • Reconciles bank, credit card, AP and other accounts as assigned by Assistant Controller
  • Ensures that transactions are properly documented and approved
  • Able to maintain and update excel templates and formulas for existing reports
  • Communicates with and supports other functions including sales, marketing and operations as need to complete job duties
  • This is a new position that will report to the Assistant Controller

 

Qualifications:

  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Highly proficient with Quickbooks
  • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • A self-starter, but is also highly effective in team environments
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize with efficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to support multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines; be solutions-orientation when problem solving and able to demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Experience in food and beverage or manufacturing is a plus
